"Forth reaching to the Fruit, she pluck'd, she ate:

Earth felt the wound, and Nature from her seat

Sighing through all her Works gave signs of woe,

That all was lost"

Adam is the creation of God and Eve is created with one of Adam's ribs.

Eve is the one who initially falls to deception when Satan offers her

an apple from the Tree of Knowledge. She has many reasons for falling

for his trick including the fact that it was close to her lunch time

and Satan places her on a pedestal. Later, because of his love towards

Eve, Adam is also convinced by Eve to eat from the apple. Eating from

the apple is considered the Original Sin of man.
